Physical employment standards for demanding occupations.
Tim has led work developing and validating physical employment standards where capability, fairness and defensibility matter.
Standards need to reflect the real demands of the job, not tradition, convenience or arbitrary fitness tests. This work has included military, emergency response and occupational environments.
Tactical performance and workforce readiness.
Research across tactical and occupational populations has examined physical capacity, task performance, load carriage, injury risk and readiness.
The work helps clarify which measures matter and how evidence can support training, selection, review and operational decisions.
Biomechanics and injury prevention.
Tim's earlier and ongoing work spans injury prevention, running biomechanics, load carriage, fatigue, movement analysis and sports performance.
One early research stream contributed to large-scale injury prevention in community sport. Later work extended this applied focus into professional sport, tactical populations and field-based monitoring.
Exercise and sport science education.
At Macquarie University, Tim led the development and growth of the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science.
This included accreditation, facilities, staffing models, industry alignment, student support and a coherent professional pathway for students entering exercise and sport science.
Performance software used internationally.
Before Forge Human, Tim developed and commercialised biomechanics and sports-performance software through TLAD Solutions.
Those products were adopted by researchers, practitioners and professional sporting organisations internationally, including elite football environments.
